A Year Out The Window
XOXOs (Retiro Way #42)
The title is a common symbol for “hugs and kisses”, which pandemic safety required we not share with anyone we didn’t live with. The cipher in the subtitle alludes to Douglas Adams’ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to The Galaxy’s definition of “42” as being the meaning of life, which for some includes, perhaps even requires, the physical expression of affection. Forty-two also happens to be the number of illustrations in the original edition of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, a curious, if meaningless, coincidence.
