This image was exhibited at the de Young Museum of San Francisco as part of its The de Young Open juried show of 2020.
The magazine on the front right of the image, discarded or forgotten, was on the ground when I arrived, and when I opened it up at random it immediately (and most fortuitously) landed on the spread shown, displaying, on the left, a body without a head, and on the right, a head without a mouth — mirroring the mosaic mural’s primary figures.
