A Year Out The Window
A Balcony At The Opera (There Goes The Fillmore Bus #140320)
This title refers to those who experienced the treat of listening, from their own balconies or windows, to a neighbor’s live operatic singing, as happened repeatedly in cities across the world during stay-at-home orders. The subtitle refers to the bus on the bottom-left of the frame, and the number to the date — in European format, i.e., day first and month second — on which Italian tenor Maurizio Marchini first serenaded his Florentine neighbors from his balcony, in a show of support and solidarity five days into his country’s nationwide lockdown.
