The title is a quote from Dr. Anthony Fauci, our nation’s preeminent infectious diseases expert, which he jokingly uttered amidst laughter in reaction to finding out from an interviewer that “Fauci-ing” had become a popular term in dating lingo, indicating either the swiping left on (i.e., marking as unappealing on a dating app) or the ghosting of (i.e., completely cutting off contact without advance notice or explanation) those not following pandemic-related safety guidelines. The figure in the subtitle, denoting the number of days in a year, is used here to symbolize exactly when it is that a pandemic and its concomitant safety measures should be taken seriously.
